Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) is one of Africa’s greatest sites that offers the greatest and wonderful Wildlife experience leaving you with the yearn of visiting again.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area is part of the Serengeti ecosystem and it covers an area of over 8,292 square kilometers that is covered with short-grass plains in the south at the border of Serengeti National Park. This conservation area is as well beautified by the magnificent Ngorongoro Highlands with great and huge calderas providing amazing eye-catching views.

Ngorongoro is a habitat to various herbivores, predators as well as the Big Five which are the Lions, Leopards, Rhinoceros, Elephants and the Cape Buffalos.

Hiking is also really enjoyed in this area and it is mostly done at the Empakaai Crater. Hiking the Empakaai Crater is always really enjoyable as it is accompanied by beautiful views of the animals and other features in the environment and when you reach at its floor, you will enjoy the beautiful views of thousands of pink flamingos that often stage at the shores of the soda lake.

 Best time to visit

The best times to visit Ngorongoro are from June to September since animals are more easily seen, although you should plan your trip around the movement of the Migration.

Best time to go: June to September for general wildlife viewing

High Season: Most of the year - July to March (The Ngorongoro Crater will have crowds)

Low Season: April and May (The only time when the crater has few crowds)

Best Weather: June to October (Rainfall is little to none)

Worst Weather: March and April (Peak of wet season)
